The Yap Manifesto

Nine things we hold about talking, working, and machines.

  1. Talking is the interface. Typing was a workaround for machines that couldn't listen. They listen now.
  2. Text is not the deliverable. The logged decision, the filed doc, the approved send — those are deliverables. Transcripts are exhaust.
  3. Memory is the moat. A system that forgets you every morning is a stranger you keep training for free.
  4. Gates make speed safe. Yap at full speed because nothing external happens without your yes.
  5. The commute is a shift. Dead time is only dead if nothing's listening.
  6. Receipts or it didn't happen. Every action leaves a line in a log a human can audit.
  7. Your words stay yours. Plain files on your machines — not sentences mined in someone else's cloud.
  8. Systems over vendors. A vendor bills you monthly. A system compounds.
  9. The proof is the operation. This site — its pages, schema, and publishing pipeline — is output of the system it describes.
